From the mind of Sean Lindbeck.
The assignment I'm working on at the moment is a multimedia subjective interpretation of the words "Active Enviroment". My personal interpretation of the words, inspired by metaphorical statements such as "blades of grass" and natural disasters and "mother nature" fighting back, is an enviroment that is actively removing pests, but adapting and using man made material to do so. My concept is "Naturally Man-made". My intended audience is the general public. I do not feel the need to make a socio-political stand. I plan on using flash to create an /interactive/ montage of images I have taken. The artists that have influenced me the most for this work of art are Fiona Hall ("Paradisus Terrestris series, 1999) and Andy Goldsworthy. The metaphorical representation of the tree carved from cans by Hall and the look of Goldsworthy's work have influenced my own ideas on the topic. I plan to travel to Melbourne, to an unfamiliar enviroment, and take photos of places and things I have not experienced before. I also plan on taking photos of the neighbourhood and areas that I frequent, of things and places I am familiar with.
